A golden-hour engagement session filled with color, connection, and sunset magic.
As a photographer, I love sessions that feel true to my couples—and Jessika & Blake’s Lovely Hollow Farm engagementsession checked every box. It was my first time photographing at this venue, and wow… I already can’t wait to go back. Between the rows of flowers, the tall grasses, and that unreal summer glow, this session was pure Idaho magic.
We planned their shoot for July—right before the flower farm opened for the season—which meant everything was lush, blooming, and bursting with color. And because we shot at sunset, the light was soft, warm, and honestly… next-level good. The kind of glow photographers dream about.
One of my favorite things about their story is how intentional Blake was from the very start. For their first date at Crave, he made reservations, waited outside for her in the cold, and made sure she felt cared for every step of the way. That energy has clearly carried into their relationship—they really do everything together, from Costco runs to shooting days to hanging out with their four dogs (Tyson, Luigi, Apollo, and Axel… the best names).
Jessika also shared that she normally doesn’t love being in front of the camera—but if her hair and makeup are done, she feels good. And girl… she showed up looking beautiful and confident. And even though they originally described themselves as “romantic, humorous, easygoing, quirky, fun, and total fur parents”… their session proved all of that to be true.
They eased right in, felt like naturals after the first few minutes, and by the end they were fully themselves.
Jessika was spot-on choosing this location. Lovely Hollow Farm is a photographer’s dream because:
Plus, with only a 60-minute time slot, it was ideal for two outfits—we kept things moving, used the light strategically, and ended up with so many gorgeous images.
We wandered through the blooms, stopped wherever the light hit just right, and made the most of every corner of the farm. Their connection is effortless, and photographing them felt easy—like working with two friends who just happen to be ridiculously cute together.
And that sunset? Absolutely did not disappoint. It wrapped around them, hit the flowers in the most dreamy way, and made their session feel even more romantic.
Jessika & Blake—thank you for trusting me with your engagement photos, especially at a location that already meant so much to you. You two were so easy to work with, and I love how you lean into each other with so much comfort and trust. If your wedding is anything like your session… it’s going to be incredible.
If you’re dreaming of a floral, golden-hour engagement session like this, let’s make it happen.
