Meet The Gochnour’s in this Family Mini-Session

John, Melanie, Jack, Jonah, Sofia, Eliza, and baby Oakley!

Oh, I just loved this family mini-session! The light, the outfit choices, the location, the family – it was all perfect. I’m so grateful for another opportunity to photograph the Gochnour family.

I’ve known them for over 10 years, and it’s such a joy to see their little family grow. They are literally the sweetest family, every member! The highlight of this session was baby Oakley. You can just see how much love the family has for their newest addition, #GochnourPartyof7!

While family photography isn’t my primary specialty, I’ve found my own creative and challenging approach to capturing families. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m truly inspired by the process. This particular session was one of my favorites.

Before we dive into the photos, let’s talk about why I love family photography. It’s a unique opportunity to capture the essence of a family’s bond, their personalities, and their shared experiences. There’s something incredibly special about freezing these moments in time.

For this session, we chose a random park off of Eagle Road that complemented the family’s style and the overall aesthetic we were aiming for. The [time of day] light was soft and flattering, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Gochnour family’s outfits were perfectly coordinated, with neutral tones that complemented the natural surroundings. It’s always a bonus when clients put thought into their wardrobe choices and take time to read my Family Photo Prep Guide!

Their genuine love and affection for each other was evident in every interaction. It was a joy to capture their laughter, their hugs, and their playful moments.
