I knew when I registered for Shutterfest 2017 in St. Louis, MO I was in for a treat! What I didn’t know was just how much fun I would have, the memories and moments I would get to experience, and all the things I would learn as a new photographer. Imagine two full days ,and nights, of hands-on photography training, classes, and workshops with some of the best and talented in the industry – and here I was, so excited that I finally learned “back button auto focus”!! I would highly recommend this conference to any new photographer beginning their photography journey for three reasons:

  1. It was only $99, which included the trade show, and after parties! Plus a private Facebook group to interact with other conference attendee’s and an app to register for classes.
  2. You don’t have to pay extra to attend or sign up for Styled Shoots. It was all included in the cost. So if you are looking to build your portfolio, like I was, it’s a great opportunity.
  3. This conference offers several hands-on classes from some of the top photographers in the industry. Not only this, but many of these photographers act as sort of “mentor’s” for after hour shoots. They take it upon themselves to setup after hours photoshoots, answer questions, and help you get the most of your time at Shutterfest because they know what it’s like to be a new photographer and want to give back!

One of the sweetest and talented photographers I met was Jewels Gray – she was the creative mastermind, organizer, and instructor for this Styled Wedding Shoot workshop I signed-up for.  From the brides jewelry, the classic car, the beautiful “real life” couple – Joshua & Stephanie as our models, the record set, and florals – no detail was left undone. It was my favorite shoot for so many reasons. Below are some of my favorite shots that I was able to capture.

Sal Cincotta and his team put on an amazing event for photographers at all stages of their journey. I look forward to next year!

To moments that matter,

Tina
