As a wedding photographer who’s at Still Water Hollow often, I can tell you—this venue never looks the same twice. Every season brings something new. And Elyssa + Travis’s summer wedding was packed with meaning, intentional moments, and so much heart.
From the second I arrived at the bridal suite, things felt calm and organized—no surprise, because Elyssa basically acted as her own planner and created a down-to-the-minute Spotify playlist for the entire reception. (Truly impressive.)
But before the music, before the cake, before the sparklers… the day started with the sweetest private first look.
We kicked off portraits early in the day so they could enjoy a slow, stress-free afternoon. Their first look happened right outside the chapel—quiet, intimate, and exactly what they wanted.
Honestly… more couples should do this. It gave them space to breathe, reconnect, and be present before everything kicked into motion.
We rolled straight into wedding party portraits—her bridesmaids in warm copper + terracotta tones, his groomsmen in classic black—and knocked out all pre-ceremony portraits early. Highly recommend.
Still Water Hollow is one of the most popular venues in the Treasure Valley for a reason:
Their ceremony began at 4:30 pm, led by Travis’s uncle, who officiated. And while Elyssa’s dad has passed, she carried several subtle tributes—including her wedding band, repurposed from his ring and a photo charm on her bouquet. These little touches added so much meaning to their day.
While guests grabbed charcuterie at cocktail hour (made by a family friend!), we knocked out family formals in record time thanks to a tight, organized list.
Reception started at 5:45 pm with heartfelt thank-you speeches from the couple. Dinner was provided by Just Cater It! by Chef Wally, and it was a hit.
After cake cutting, first dance, and mingling, we stepped outside for sunset portraits—Still Water Hollow’s best feature. Warm light, open space, and tones that always look amazing in photos.
Elyssa put so many intentional touches into her wedding day:
This wedding was proof that personal details matter more than anything else.
Elyssa + Travis, thank you for trusting me with such a meaningful, carefully planned day. You thought of everything, and it showed. It was an honor capturing the moments you’ll look back on for decades.
