Some engagement sessions feel calm and easy from the very first minute — and this was one of them. Alyssa and Jordan chose the Boise Foothills for their session, and not just because it’s beautiful (which it absolutely is), but because it’s meaningful. Our first stop was near the spot where they had their very first date, so starting there made everything feel full-circle in the best way.
When Alyssa submitted their questionnaire, they described themselves as balanced, considerate, and adventurous. And honestly? That showed up in every part of their session. They both admitted they can be a little shy at first — Jordan especially — but once we settled in, you would never know it. Little by little, they relaxed, laughed, leaned into it, and totally came out of their shell. By the end, they were absolute naturals.
We wandered through trails, paused in the soft grasses, and let the landscape do its thing. Every now and then, Jordan would throw in a quiet joke or a small smile, and Alyssa would light right up. Those were some of my favorite frames — the ones where you get to see who a couple becomes when they think no one’s watching.
These two are so excited for their first look on their wedding day — it’s the moment they’re both looking forward to most. And after seeing how natural and connected they were during their engagement session, I can already tell it’s going to be such a good one.
Alyssa & Jordan — thank you for choosing such a meaningful location and trusting me to photograph this season of your life. Your engagement session was warm, peaceful, sentimental, and so very you.
I cannot wait to photograph your wedding day.
